Hydrofracking Issue: B.C. Legislature Approves Road Usage Law

Another issue involving hydrofracking is its effect on infrastructure--such as roads:

Thursday, the Broome County Legislature passed a proposal that would set bonding  and requirements and fees for haulers who require heavy use county roads.

The law is designed to allow Broome County to recover costs of damages done by heavy useage of some 350 miles of county owned roadways.

The state has not yet decided if fracking will be allowed in New York.
