Police: Larcenies Down from Last Year
11/13/2012 (Updated 11:02:35 PM)
But, police said larcenies are actually down from last year, and that they happen all over the city, not just on the West Side.
Police are making arrests, but advise people to make sure they lock their car doors, and report suspicious behavior.
Also, don't leave items like GPS systems, purses, or money laying in plain view.
"Police can't be in your neighborhood all the time, they can't have a Patrol Officer on your block 24/7, it's just impossible. If you see people around cars, if you see people walking down driveways, haven't seen them visiting your neighborhoods before, call the police," said Captain Jack Collins.
Collins said that when manpower permits, extra patrols are sent to high crime neighborhoods.
