Murder/Suicide in Franklin

Police are still sorting out the details of an apparent murder/suicide in Franklin, involving Suny Delhi Professor Willis brown and his wife Wendy.

Officers responded to a home on Main Street in the village early Wednesday morning. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office isn't revealing which member of the couple it feels committed the murder but did say a shooting was involved. The incident has shocked the close-knit community.

"We are a very rural county and a lot of people know everybody. and also it's a difficult situation especially for some of our officers who are familiar with the individuals we deal with," said Craig Dumond, the Delaware County Under Sheriff.

Police are still awaiting the results of a second autopsy to determine who they believe shot whom.
