Following Election Defeat, Abdelazim Rules Out Run for Binghamton Mayor

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston's Democratic opponent Tarik Abdelazim said after Tuesday night's election results that he is keeping open the option to run for County Executive again in four years.

However, what about running for Binghamton mayor?

"I know a lot of folks have mentioned me as a candidate for Binghamton mayor, but I can put those rumors to rest. I won't be interested in that. There are many other capacities in which I could apply leadership and management style. I look forward to working with the county executive and the others across Broome County because our crisis are real and we need serious solution and we need to get to work," said former Broome County Executive candidate Tarik Abdelazim.
   
Current Mayor Matt Ryan-- is term limited and  finishes his second term at the end of 2013.
