State of Emergency Throughout the Area

Hurricane Sandy is making landfall and bringing heavy wind and rain to the northeast, including the Southern Tier.

Broome, Tioga, and Chenango Counties have declared states of emergency.

In Broome County that means travel prohibited on roadways since four Monday afternoon. 

Officials are urging people to stay away from areas of flooded roadways, downed trees, and power lines.
