B-Sens slip-up in Portland

The B-Sens got on the board first as Jakob Silfverbeg netted an unassisted shorthanded goal, his second goal of the season, just past the midway point of the first period.
The Pirates followed up with a goal at 17:12 by Alexandre Bolduc to send the teams into the first intermission tied at one.
The Pirates took advantage of an early second period power play to take their first lead of the game, 2-1. Andy Miele scored his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Chris Connor and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
The Pirates would add to their lead at 4:36 of the third period as Jordan Szwarz beat Robin Lehner. Michael Stone and former B-Sens forward Rob Klinkhammer assisted.
At 6:54 in the period, Binghamton cut the Pirates lead as they scored their second shorthanded goal of the game courtesy of Corey Cowick. Jean-Gabriel Pageau drew the lone assist on Cowicks tally.
The Pirates, however, regained their two-goal lead to secure the win as Mathieu Brodeur scored with just 1:38 remaining in regulation. Miele and Conner assisted, earning their second points of the game.
Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens where he finished with 27 saves on 31 shots. Chad Johnson earned the win in goal for Portland, turning aside 38 of 40 Binghamton shots.
The B-Sens see action tomorrow as they travel Manchester to take on the Monarchs. Game time is 4 p.m.
