Cal Harris Set For New Trial

Cal Harris, the man twice convicted for killing his wife, is getting another trial.

The state court of appeals made the ruling Tuesday. The court ruled that while the guilty verdict was supported by legally sufficient evidence, a critical error occurred during jury selection.

A juror mentioned she had already formed an opinion of the case slightly more in one direction than another.

The appellate court ruled it was a mistake to let her on the jury. The court also suggested a change of venue be granted for the next trial.
