M4.0 Earthquake from Maine Felt Throughout the Northeasat

New England and portions of New York were rocked by an earthquake Tuesday evening centered in the state of Maine.

According the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude 4.0 earthquake happened at 7:12pm about 20 miles west of Portland, ME. 

The earthquake was downgraded from a magnitude 4.6 about an hour after the earthquake occurred.

Many folks in New England reported feeling tremors.  There were even reports in New York State from mainly north of the Albany area.

There were no reports of extensive damage or injuries.
