Dive Team Searches Near South Washington Bridge

A state police dive team was searching the waters under the South Washington Street Bridge in Binghamton late Monday afternoon, but it's not known what they were looking for.

The dive team is from the Kirkwood barracks, a trooper there tells us that they were not trying to recover a body, but were looking for "evidence"  related to a case that Binghamton Police are working on.

The activity caused a bit of a stir by local residents and passersby, who wondered what had happened.
