DWI Arrest Following Car Fire

In the Town of Binghamton, police and fire crews both had their hand full handling what they said was an incident involving a drunk driver.

Anthony Santucci has been charged with DWI after he allegedly lost control of his car along Mill Street.

According to police, Santucci drove through a ditch and struck a street sign.

It was then, police said, the sign ruptured the gas tank.

But, Santucci continued driving north along Mill Street which left a trail of burning gasoline.

When the flames engulfed the car, Santucci stopped and got out as fire crews put out the fire.

Santucci, who is from Pennsylvania Avenue, Binghamton, was unharmed, but he has some court dates ahead of him.
