Study: New York States Taxes Worst in Nation

(Source: Fox 40 Staff)

According to the Washington-based Tax Foundation report issued Tuesday, New York State's taxes are the worse in the nation in terms

Last year New York was 49th, with New Jersey at the bottom.

Although Governor Cuomo has been working with the legislature to cap taxes and trim spending, the foundation says "despite moderate corporate taxes, New York still has the worst individual income tax, the sixth-worst unemployment insurance taxes, and the sixth-worst property taxes."

The report says the tax climate doesn't square with the governor's  "open for business" promotions of the state as a good place to conduct business.
