School Suspension Update

No satisfaction from the Union-Endicott School District, so the lawyer for two suspended students is taking the case to the New York Supreme Court.

Vincent Osborn and David Terwillliger of Jennie F. Snapp Middle School were suspended for this entire school year, following accusations by other students that the boys were planning to bring guns to school.

After a hearing before the Superintendent the suspensions stood.
The boys' attorney, Ron Benjamin insists the judgement was made without a proper examination of evidence.

"I would say to those parents you would not want your student, your child deprived of his or her education based on some frivolous statement with no proof, no reliable evidence, you would not want your child removed from school.  That's what's happening here, that's all that's happening here." says Attorney Ron Benjamin.

"He sees all the kids going to school, he sees his friends talking about school on Facebook, and he wants to be there." says Dana Echauri.

That was Dana Echauri explaining that her son is being tutored at the George F. Johnson Library, right next to Jennie F. Snapp School where he is no longer allowed.
