New BU Basketball Coach Shares His Vision of the Sports Program

Thomas Dempsey, the new head coach for the Binghamton University Men's Basketball team, spoke at the Binghamton Rotary Tuesday about his plans for success.

Coach Dempsey said that he is going to take the "ABC" approach: academics, basketball, and conduct.

Besides focusing on his new coaching position, Coach Dempsey is excited about getting involved in the community.

"I think the first step is that we become a program that people respect," said Dempsey. "That people can get excited about, that the community can root for."

The rules were recently changed to allow coaches to work with players over the summer months.
