Pro/Anti Gas Drillers Clash

On Tuesday night, the Binghamton Sustainability Coalition, which opposes hydrofracking, hosted a forum at the Brookside Elementary School in the Town of Binghamton.

Pro-drilling factions attended the forum and objected to what they considered was a biased gathering.  They said the Binghamton Sustainability Coalition had sent letters to area residents claiming that water would be poisoned and ruin the environment.

"We're going to be civil when we tell them the truth," said Victor Furman of the Joint Landowner's Coalition and pro-gas.  "We hope they respond civilly when they get the truth."
