Lupardo Wants Larger Investigation, Resignation of Rep. Lopez

State Representative Donna Lupardo is adding her voice to those
calling for the resignation of Assemblyman Vito Lopez:

Lupardo's not satisfied with the decision of the joint commission on public ethics.

The commission decided to only investigate allegations that Lopez sexually  harassed  two women.

She says JCOPE, as the commission is known, should also  investigate Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's authorization of more than a hundred thousand dollars to settle lawsuits brought by two other women:

"What they need to do is look at the entire circumstance (Silver's approval of the settlements and the other complaints from the other women) ...using taxpayer dollars is troubling to many of my constituents"

In August, Assembly Speaker Silver censured the 71-year-old Lopez, citing evidence that the Brooklyn democrat had groped,
kissed, and verbally harassed two female employees.
It was later learned that similar claims brought by two other women were settled with the approval of  Mr. Silver.
