On Sunday the former Harlem Globetrotter who's now an ordained Minister was in Binghamton speaking at different churches and also meeting with several youth groups. The former hoops star is in town to take part in the annual Jim "Mudcat" Grant All Star golf tournament which raises money for several childrens and family service organizations.
Meadowlark says his message to young people is to find joy in life and that he's committed to making the world a better place for our youth, who he says are facing some very challenging times.
"I believe one of the main reasons is we've taken God out of our young people's lives. We've taken God out of our schools, we've taken God out of every place you can go today and until we get God back into the lives of our kids, I think were going to have problems." said Meadowlark Lemon.
Lemon says he's still playing basketball and entertaining audiences and that he's in the gym every morning by 6 am so that he keeps on top of his game.
