Clean up Begins After the Dick's Open

ENDICOTT -- Although the big event is over, the work is far from done.  A couple hundred workers came out to the En-Joie golf course today to begin the disassembly process.  Workers folded up chairs, ripped out carpeting, took down tents and used a crane to take the 542 square foot monster video board down.

"It's definitely a little hard to come back and tear it all down," said Mike Schaffer, Tournament Operations Manager.  "But once it's all down we get ready for 2013."

A heavy rain began to fall today during the clean-up process.  Although workers say it will slow them down by a few hours, they say it will not stop them.

"Well, we do this all the time," said worker George Caldwell.  "We come from Florida so as long as it's not lightning, we workin."

It is already time to have meetings to plan next year's event.  Workers say that the set-up for the golf tournament is an always changing process, and they will use this year's experience to make next year even better.
