Cuomo Signs Bills Making Solar Power More Affordable

New York State is looking to double the number of residents who have solar panels, both this year and next...
 
Governor Cuomo signed a series of bills Friday as part of the NY-SUN initiative.

The new law provides state tax credits for homeowners who lease or purchase solar equipment. These credits can be for as much as $5,000 for as long as 14 years.

Another law exempts solar equipment from sales tax.
