Langer leads after rain-shortened Day 1 at DSGO

ENDICOTT -- Up until the rain poured down on the fairways of En-Joie causing play to be postponed, it was Bernhard Langer raining down birdies posting a score of 7-under through his first 15 holes.  That score was good enough to be the leader after a rain-shortened day one.

Langer and the rest of the field will resume round one at 7:30 Saturday morning before starting the second round at around 9:10.

Willie Wood is currently the leader in the clubhouse, as one of the few players that completed 18 Friday.  He sits at 5-under par and won't have to be out on the course quite as early Saturday.

Defending Champion John Huston picked up just where he left off the last time he was in Endicott.  Huston, in a group with former champions Lonnie Nielsen and Loren Roberts, is in a tie for second with Woods at 5-under through 15 holes.

Local product Joey Sindelar, from Horseheads, only got two holes in Friday before the weather delay.  Sindelar is at even par, and will have 34 holes to play Saturday.
