Police:Thieves Stole Steel From Vestal Highway Department

Investigators say a team of thieves spent a month stealing sewer parts from the Vestal Highway Department from their property at 1801 Glenwood Road after hours.

The Vestal Police Department, with assistance from the Owego Police Department, have conducted an investigation and charged three individuals involved in the theft scandal.

Two Endicott residents, 45-year-old Stephen Kish and 40-year-old James Betley, have been charged with Grand Larceny and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail by the Town of Vestal Court.

The third individual involved in the scheme was 48-year-old Ronnie Guarnieri, charged by the Owego Police Department with Criminal Posession of Stolen Property. Guarnieri claimed he didn't participate in any form of robbery, however Owego Police say he was found with some of the stolen goods. Released on an appearance ticket, he awaits a court session at a later date.
