Huron Settlement Could Mean Higher Taxes for Endicott Residents

The negotiations have created some friction between the parties involved, Endicott, the Union-Endicott School District, The Town of Union, and Huron Real Estate.
The bottom line is that Huron will pay lower taxes, because the taxable value of their property has been cut by more than $6 million dollars.
Endicott officials say since most of the property is within their village,
residents are left holding the bag with a tax base that has been reduced by around 25%.
