Police Say Man Electrocuted While Stealing Scrap Metal

A Tompkins County man was killed early Sunday morning after he was electrocuted while allegedly trying to steal wire and scrap metal from a Pennsylvania Manufacturing Company.

Authorities say 29 year old John Santa Croce of Lansing Station and another person were in the process of stealing the material from the Bendix Facility in Susquehanna County when Santa Croce came in contact with high voltage electrical lines and was electrocuted.

Police say they contacted a friend who transported them to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton where he later died.
