Bones Jones Sentencing

Ultimate Fighting Champ Jon Bones Jones learns his sentence in a Binghamton courtroom.

The Endicott native went before a judge Tuesday morning to be sentenced for driving while intoxicated.

Prosecutors say on May 19th Jones crashed his Bentley into a utility pole in Binghamton.

The judge issued a $1000 fine, and revoked the fighters license for six months.

Jones will have to complete a victim impact panel within 90 days, and
he will have to pay $6,500 in restitution to NYSEG for the damage to the pole.

He is also required to have an ignition interlock device installed on all his vehicles.

Jones appeared to be in good spirits as he was leaving the courthouse.

"I made a major mistake, a mistake that I apologize for and definitely acknowledge and take the consequences for my mistakes.  I just want to say thank you to Broome County and the people that support me most.  Thank you for sticking with me throughout the situation.  I'm definitely prepared to do whatever I can to make it right and do things better in the future.  I'm excited to make you guys proud again and continue in winning ways on a positive, right foot.  So don't count me out.  I'll be back, guys. Thanks." said Jones.

Jones is set to defend his title against Dan Henderson in Las Vegas on September 1st.
