Medicare Anniversary Marked by Protest

47 years ago, Congress established Medicare and Medicaid.
On Monday, in recognition of the anniversary, Citizen Action called for an end to cuts in the health care program--

A group who call themselves  the "Raging Grannies" was part of the gathering at Recreation Park in Binghamton ---singing to the tune of Battle Hymn  of the Republic.  Their rendition described the battle to preserve health and dignity, which the lyrics presented as possible for so many people only if the health care programs continue.

They say the nation  can well afford to continue the care, if the richest 2% pay their fair share of taxes:
