National Pipe Protest in Endicott

It's still hot in Endicott-- heated emotions among residents who still don't want National Pipe and Plastic relocating from Vestal to West Endicott.

Wednesday night, a large group of them met at West Endicott Park.--to complain that local officials are not paying attention to their fears of neighborhood disruption, dislocation, and declining property values::

Sean King of Endicott said,  "I'm angry with the Town of Union board because nobody is representing the people. nobody is representing what all these people have to say and what all the petitions, and all the letters, and all the phone calls, and all the emails. No Town of Union board is representing us."

Violet Russell added,  "and we don't want them here because of the pollution that could potentially be around: the water pollution, air pollution, and how unsightly it is going to be."

Opponents are urging others to  continue to make their voices heard, and to  send letters expressing their concerns to the Town of Union Zoning Board.
