Go Green Camp Presentation

The learning hasn't stopped this summer for 55 area seventh-graders at Binghamton University.

Friday was the final day of the Go Green Institute at Binghamton University, and the kids got to show off what they've been working on during the 10-day camp.

The projects included different ways to power a car, improve water quality, and even a more sustainable way to package an ipod.

"In middle school students often start to feel that the social pressures are more important, and get distracted away from science. It's not cool to be a nerd, but when we bring together all these bright kids and they find out they're not alone. There are a lot of students that are really good at science and math and they can make a difference," said Wayne Jones the Director of the Go Green Institute.       

"It's really awesome to meet other people from other school districts to work with them, work with new people and all the experience it's very hands on, and it's very fun," said Grace Perrna a seventh grade student.

The kids from 30 school districts worked in teams of four to create their projects.
