Conklin Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty Pleads Not Guilty

The Conklin woman charged with 16 counts of Animal Cruelty entered a plea of not guilty Tuesday.

Christine Macan was arrested after authorities found both dead and emaciated Dobermans in her home at 200 Shaw Road.

Police say the animals were living in filthy conditions, and covered with feces.

13 dogs were taken to the Humane Society for treatment, but one of them did not survive.

The judge says because she has a history of failing to appear in court, he sent her to Broome County Jail on 500 dollars bail.
