New Teen Tanning Law

Kids under the age of 17 will soon be banned from using tanning beds in New York State.

When a new law signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo goes into effect, it will prohibit anyone under 17 from using indoor tanning facilities.

17-year-olds will need a parent's permission.

The law does not include spray tanning.

"Using a spray tanning system or using sunless lotions is way safer for the skin especially for a young person," said Roxanne Dundon a spray tan technician.
