Golfers Tee Off To Raise Money For Mom's House

Golfers looking to take a few swings for charity were given a beautiful day to do so.

The links at Hiawatha Landing hosted the 5th annual Johnny Hart Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Mom's House.

28 captain and crew teams chipped and putted their way to raising money for the non-profit organization.  The child care organization was devastated by last September's flood so organizers say this year's tournament is that much more important.

"Whatever Mom's House needs, it may be food or anything else of that sort. Mom's House got flooded last year as did most of the people in Johnson City and so we're rebuilding there right now and so we're going to need some other stuff to finish our preparations in order to move in by September 1st" said Robert Warner, Tournament Co-Chair.

The tournament featured several door prizes and raffles including an original work by local artist Johnny Hart and his grandson Mason Mastroianni who took over the b-c comic strip after Hart's passing in 2007.
