Tennis Tournament Preview

Tennis anyone?

Preparations for the 19th annual Levine, Gouldin, and Thompson Tennis Challenger are almost complete as the tournament begins Saturday with qualifying play.

The tournament will run through the 22nd.

A number of tournament alums have been successful at Wimbledon this year, including 2005 champion Andy Murray who lost to Roger Federer this past Sunday in the finals.

"All in all approximately one-third of the 32 players that advanced to the third round of Wimbledon this year have played in Binghamton at some point in their career," says Taylor Kucharski, LG & T tennis challenger.

In addition to tennis, next week there will be a Taste of Tennis dinner to benefit the Discovery Center and a local children's clinic.
