President Signs Schumer-Sponsored 'Bath Salts' Ban

Legislation banning the synthetic drug called 'bath salts' was signed into law by Tuesday by President Obama ....
 
And Senator Charles Schumer played a big role in getting the bill to the President's desk.

The new law bans not only bath salts, but also adds 30 other drugs to a list of controlled substances.

Schumer, who has  been active in assembling the bill, says it closes loopholes that allowed the sales of salts and other substances in smoke shops and convenience stores in New York , and across the country
