Senator Gillibrand Responds to Unemployment Numbers

But Friday's unemployment figures still at 8.2 percent have many Americans wondering if the prosperity we once enjoyed, will ever return.
In the Southern Tier Friday, we asked U.S. Senator Kirstin Gillibrand for her response to Republican charges that her party and President Obama have been mishandling the economy.
"The economy is a very tough economy and surely when President Obama took office we were losing 700,000 jobs a month so even though our unemployment is still much too high and even though we still have a long way to go, at least we're adding jobs every month now," said Senator Gillibrand.
We'll have a full report on today's jobless figures, a bit later in this newscast.
Senator Gillibrand by the way, was in Binghamton Friday, to host a roundtable discussion on future plans for local sustainable development.
Before heading over to the Riverwalk Hotel for the discussion, she was given a tour of a recently renovated home on Pine Street a part of the Restore New York Program.
