Tradition, Memories at Montrose's July 4th Parade

Every year, Montrose's big Fourth of July celebration draws people both from Pennsylvania and the Southern Tier-- and lots of other places as well:

That's because it's earned a reputation for small town authenticity.
It is a display of traditions often lost in the commercialization of the holiday.
But go to Montrose, and it's like stepping back in time --and even out- of-state residents appreciate that:

John Horwhat, who came from Maryland with his son to enjoy the parade told us, "I think it's a memory they will have the rest of their lives...I remember as a kid going to the parade...the fire trucks going through..."

And Mandy Wood and her son, who live in the Montrose area said, "My favorite part is just watching him watching the parade."

The Montrose Fourth of July celebration is one of the best attended in the area.
