Family Still Counts its Blessings after Town of Union Fire

It's wasn't much of a holiday for one family in the Town of Union, after their house on Buffalo Street caught on fire around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.
The good news--no injuries were reported, but two ambulances along with five fire trucks were on the scene.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control fairly quickly--but it was still not the way anyone wants to spend a holiday.

"...very grateful here, everybody stuck to a plan to get out of the house and everybody got out, we even got the animals out so... not what I wanted for a Fourth of July," said the home owner.

It appears that the fire started in the attic--and some of the damage was at the rear of the house.
