Chenango Valley State Park Improves Grounds in Time for Holiday Weekend

Chenango Valley State Park gets a face-lift just in time for the 4th of July.

Beach upgrades to the park are now complete for the summer season.

The state invested $4 million dollars for things like upgraded comfort stations, new electrical systems, flood remediation, cabin renovations, a new water distribution system, and a state of the art bathhouse.

"We get a lot of returning folks that come back year after year.  They're either locals or just people that come from everywhere, and they're like 'Man, this new building, when did this happen?' They're just blown away because it's gorgeous. It's beautiful," said Darius Talandis, Chenango Valley State Park.

The park sees nearly 170-thousand visitors each year and is almost always at full capacity for holidays like the 4th of July.
