Former NFL linebacker & Endicott native weighs in on concussions

Isaiah Kacyvenski took to the golf course to raise money for charity Friday.

But there's another cause the former U-E Tiger has been involved with starting with his time in the NFL.

Kacyvenski struggled with concussions during his NFL career and has been in the forefront on discussions on how to improve the game.  With more added attention to concussions lately, Isaiah says it's been a long time coming.

"I mean I don't have to practice hitting my head against a wall," he said.  "It's as simple as that.  There's ways to practice full speed without contact as well.  I love the game, I want my son to play the game, it gave me a lot in my life.  I love watching it, I love being around it, I love being a student of the game, but it does need to change.  I want to let my son play with a good conscious knowing it's a safer game."

Toronto Marlies player and Johnson City native Jerry D'Amigo was also on the course today.
We'll have more from him in the next few days.
