Former Police Officer says Beating was Unjustified

A Vestal family says their son was the victim of police brutality in Pennsylvania and it was caught on video. Now a former Pennsylvania police officer has created a documentary on the incident and wants help to get him justice.

This is video of Robert Leone of Vestal after he was pulled over in Towanda Pennsylvania back in March of 2010.

Larry Hohol who says he is a  Former Pennsylvania police officer,  created a documentary of the video, put it on his website, and on YouTube.

"I was devastated when I saw what I saw, "says Hohol.

Hohol says the video shows Leone was severely beaten by police even though he was not violent.

"You don't torture a prisoner you don't taunt a prisoner. There is nothing professional about any of that," added Hohol.

Hohol says this is how it happened, Back in March 2010 Robert Leone, was traveling from New York into Pennsylvania. Police signaled him to pullover, but he continued driving.

Leone didn't pull over but was finally stopped by Pennsylvania state police in Towanda.Hohol tells Fox 40 a police car sandwiches him in and then things went wrong.

"The appropriate thing to do would be to back that car out of there open that door and back off and tell him to get out of the car and lay on the ground. That didn't happen instead he was dragged out of the passenger's door throw to the ground and the boots were put to him. '

Hohol admits that Leone should have pulled over. He says that Leone had taken prescription medication for a bi-polar condition, which affected his judgement but did not make him aggressive and therefore should not have been beaten.

Hohol is working with Leone's family which has filed a civil suit alleging  police brutality.
