En Joie has more time to prepare for DSGO

ENDICOTT -- Golfers flocked to the En Joie golf club Wednesday for it's first day of the season.

Usually, the latter part of June is when many in the Southern Tier would travel over to course for the Dick's Sporting Goods Open. With last Septembers flood, the date of the tournament has been pushed back to August.

One might think the extra time to prepare the course would be welcomed, but as En Joie's Head Pro, Michael Duele tells Fox 40 it can be a catch 22.

"It's nice to have a little more time, but the stresses of summer also add to the equation. But it's nice to have more weeks to get the place primo for the Tour players."

Until the DSGO starts on August 17th En Joie will enforce a strict cart-path only policy to help keep the course in playing shape.
