Wendy Long Heading for GOP Primary for U.S. Senate

U.S. Senate Candidate Wendy Long was in Binghamton Friday getting ready for the primary election just around the corner.

Wendy has already clinched the spot for New York State Conservative Party, and is looking to claim the Republican nominee slot as well.

If she is elected, she'll be going head to head against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

She believes that with her background as a Law Clerk at the  U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court, she's equipped to deal with the big issues of the day.

"Washington and New York are not creating the kind of environment, the same kind of educational opportunities, job opportunities and frankly just the character of our nation right now is not the same country that I grew up in. I see it slipping away for my children, and for other people's children. I just wanted to offer myself and all the different experiences I've had to try and do something to remedy that," said Wendy Long.

The primary will be held Tuesday June 26th.
