Baltz & Augliera drafted to the majors

It took awhile, but in second day of the first year MLB player draft local products are flying off the shelves.

The first area athlete off the board today was former Vestal Golden Bear and current St. John's stud Jeremy Baltz. The Vestal grad was selected in the 2nd rd, 68th overall, by the San Diego Padres.

On the Bearcats front, pitcher Mike Augliera, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox, which might make it a little harder to root for him now. Augliera with his 5th rd, 181st selection, becomes the highest Bearcat drafted in school history.

As for BU's Lee Sosa, and JC's Ryan Clark they haven't been drafted yet, but the draft resumes tomorrow.
