Vestal HS Supports Alum Struck by Drunk Driver

"Concert in the Courtyard"... a fundraiser for a Vestal High School alum who was hit by a drunk driver.

The bar-b-que and concert raised money for Ariel Hendricks' medical bills. She was struck by a driver under the influence while crossing the street in Binghamton last summer. 

Students say that her accident has made them even more aware of making safe decisions.

"I think the fact that she does have such a legacy at the school. She did a lot. She participated in student government. She was in a bunch of sports. It shows how things can happen. It's not just random people. It's people that you know and are connected with. It makes it a lot more real," said Vestal senior Katie Kelly.

The event featured student and staff musical performances.
