Gerri Harrison Financial Services is an incorporated business involved in all areas of financial services. It is our mission to provide you with a lifetime of services. We want to be part of the family. We want to pack your child off to college and you off to retirement. We want to be there through the christenings, weddings, illnesses and deaths. Whenever there is a financial matter you have a question about, I want the first thing you think of to be "Gerri will know how to handle that".

Gerri A Harrison is a certified financial planner (CFP) and an enrolled agent (EA). I have been involved in the financial services industry since 1983. As a member of SCORE and throughout my career I have counseled hundreds of small businesses. I have taught various educational classes through the local community college adult education program and conducted many seminars of my own .

Certified financial planners have studied and passesd a series of rigorous tests. As a CFP I am required to take 30 continuing education credits every two years. As a member of the Financial Planning Association I am able to stay abreast of current trends in the financial planning industry. I broker through HD Vest Investment Services SM, a non-bank subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company, who also provides me with many educational opportunities.

Enrolled agents have studied and passed a four part test given by the IRS. They are recognized as being able to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. As an enrolled agent I am required to obtain 72 continuing education credits every three years. As a member of the National Association of Tax Preparers, I have an organization which provides me with research services and up-to-the date tax information.

As a life, disability and long term care insurance agent I am required to obtain 15 continuing education credits every two years.

There is no universally accepted designation for the college financial aid planning industry. Although not required I do obtain education in this area each year. As a member of the National Financial Aid Practitioners Alliance, I have an organization that keeps me abreast of current changes.

Even though required to obtain the minimums listed above I often times have two to three times as many credits as I need. It is essential to keep up-to-date with the latest changes and trends in the financial field. One of my favorite activities is sitting down and reading a financial magazine or reviewing a financial newsletter. I get very excited when I learn something new that will help a current or future client.
