For this week’s elimination, the American Idol top nine finalists were divided into three groups of three on stage. The group of Jordin Sparks, Melinda Doolittle, and Lakisha Jones was the first group announced as safe. The group of Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson, and Sanjaya Malakar was the second group announced as safe. The group of Phil Stacey, Haley Scarnato, and Gina Glocksen was the bottom three. After just under 33 million votes, Gina Glocksen was eliminated from American Idol.

Gina you were and are a great singer. America doesn't understand what they are voting for and with Howard Stern and company voting for S. Malakar this contest is all screwed up. Don't ever give up your dream. I can't wait to buy your first album.

wow I would be so frustrated if I was a contetant and Sanjaya was getting by every week and eliminating people who actually have TALENT, the people who are voting for him really need to stop, it is getting really annoying, the show is supposed to be about singing

I think sanjaya needs to get voted off as soon as possible. his hair is girly and he doesnt have any singing talent. american idol is about singing not about bad hairdo's. the people who are voting for him as a joke are not cool and its getting old.
